As I'm near the end of the 2D tutorial of Godot a dark time comes. A time that is known as „DAFUQ I'm gonna do next" mixed with „I don't think I understand all of the things I just did" 😉
This is a milestone for me, as I'm getting closer to living the dream!
So here's the plan!
1) Read all the docs one more time
I need to understand what I just did. List the nodes I used and properties I set. Write down repeatable steps. Who knows, I might end up publishing a Godot Cheatsheet made in Notion!
2) Read the rest of the documentation!
As far as I've seen it's not as demanding as actually doing some steps at my computer. So I might as well do it faster (at least when it comes to reading it and acknowledging what’s already there, so I can return to it later 😉).
As you remember I am skipping the 3D tutorial, as I won't be aiming for these kinds of games now. Rather I will be aiming for deepening my knowledge about the engine and making some small, graphically poor rip-offs as practice 😉
You may be wondering what about the idea to go for Unreal Engine 5 and BluePrint… Some day, maybe… Maybe when I’m ready for 3D 😉
3) Make some games!
How much? I don't know... But I will probably redo some classics and raise their complexity to become a better game developer. I might even document the process as some sort of itch.io dev blog.
4) Refine my Godot code
And by that, I mean putting complex logic I still don’t understand (math) in an external (to the game) library. Might be useful later :-)

Did you know that Sam Barlow made a remake of the first Silent Hill for the Nintendo Wii, cut the cult bullshit, and did more psychometrics on the player? Damn, what an ingenious idea! Watch here. An additional interview related to the video can be found here.
I have a request for you!
