I'm curious if there was a single person who did not notice that I didn't send you anything last week...
It's a sad story, my Internet provider messed up, and I spent the weekend pondering.
While waiting for the Internet, I was mainly worried about one thing - whether I could get back to my routine (spoiler alert, I think I managed 😉).
James Clear, the undisputed authority on habit building, emphasizes not letting a broken habit stay broken. You can't skip more than one day if you do something daily.
For this newsletter, that would mean not skipping more than a week.
Many of my daily habits suffer from such irregularity. That’s why I see it as quite a challenge!
Not only I’m unable to work with any personal deadlines, but I even forget to mark distractions in the Pomodoro technique once they happen.
In my daily attempt to publish something on Medium or learn game development, I often hit the "Postpone until tomorrow" button.
Will the same fate befall this weekly newsletter? I hope not!
How am I doing?
I’m making progress (small, but still) to master the Godot Engine and write all I learned into a Notion notebook for future reference.
I study a little about my obsession, which is successful single developers. Who knows, I might do a series of case studies! We can learn all about their habits and tricks of trade!
I’m also thinking about making a survey. I want to learn more about you! 😊
An insightful bit of advice I once got is to assume you are only 'you' today. Tomorrow, you'll be a different person. So, in effect, when you decide to put something off when you don't have a reason to, you are screwing your next iteration.
I’ve also thought about doing a survey to get a pulse check …
