I have this re-occurring idea for a potential hit, that I still haven’t done…
A newsletter.
If you’re like me you like success stories! Nothing inspires awe, jealousy, and shiny object syndrome than a success story. One of them is the story of how Gavin Eisenbeisz created Choo-Choo Charles. Especially the moment when he says he still hasn’t learned to program, and that everything he has done is done using BluePrint (Unreal Engine’s NoCode solution).
Ever since that moment…
Hell, I even watch movies where people use Unreal to make 2D games…
So I coined an idea for a newsletter…
The NoCode Game Developer
A newsletter about making games without writing code with a focus on Unreal’s BluePrint.
As someone who subscribes to No-Code Exits by Katt Risen, it became apparent that there’s a niche to fill in!
Why I’m giving it away for free?
I’m already doing this one, I have the Godot Weekly curated newsletter (aka new resources about making games in Godot, cause you have to learn!)
I could rename this newsletter again, and incorporate my idea, sure. But I don’t want to drop Godot. This unfaithfulness would be hard for me. I already started learning Godot. And if I switch to Unreal I’ll end up doing visual novels in Unreal Engine… (which probably is a good idea if one wants to tell some funny anecdotes at parties for introverted nerds).
If you decide to take this, I won’t see the point in doing it myself and just drop it. The torment of unrealized ideas will be over (at least with that one).
What do I want in return?
I only want one thing. To become the number one fan of your newsletter. I only need a link!
If you decide to take my idea you might be interested in this e-book! (this is an affiliated link!) It will provide you with 12 ways you can turn your newsletter into an income.
I’ve already read it, and will use some of its ideas in Gamedev Dairy!
So… will you?
That’s a great newsletter name “No Code Game Dev” I used to work in unreal using blueprints and loved it but it can get get messy. Recently been learning more Godot. I do think knowing some coding helps like C# or GDscript makes the blueprint codes better I might create a section on this in my BossKey Newsletter https://cgboss.substack.com
I've also wondered about this, specifically because of the Choo-Choo Charles example. But it still seems like the exception.
