So, I did this last year, and I think I’ll do it this year, as well.
Here’s a Christmas gift from me to you - everything I learned this year about being productive, or the contrary 😉
How to limit context-switching?
Well, I think using Windows 11 (also on 10) virtual desktops and Edge’s workspaces works best. Why? Because they limit the capabilities of ALT+TAB.
Things I could do and benefit, but probably won’t
That would be live streaming and game jams. Although, at some point, I will do a devlog, but I will just write it… and hopefully not bore you to death.
Gonna go with the flow!
A few weeks ago, while doing a project at work, I decided to check how much Copilot can help me code. There were some converter functions I needed to code, and why not check if Copilot can do it? Well, it worked, obviously. To my excitement, because now I realize how great it will be to use AI for coding. In a granular, methodical way, it will make it faster. At some point, I will return to this topic!
Making a step back!
Well, earlier this year, I was talking about how I’m not doing MonoGame 😁
And here I am, doing Raylib.
But it’s a bet that might turn better. I feel more comfortable in code than in GUI. This might give me more progress, although it will cost me more work. We’ll see how it goes.
A lesson learned not earlier!
In the last quarter of this year, I decided to race and learn something new at work with the idea of actually becoming certified as well. And hell, it worked!
How did I achieve that? Well, I used to just wait for the last minute to start preparing. Got me almost throughout the entire school. But this time, I decided on a different approach.
I time-blocked an hour a day to study. And I consequently studied courses for an hour a day (workday). And like in all those coaching books, it did make me 1% better. Or maybe 0.1% better. But consequently better. And I ended up good enough to get the certificate.
It’s weird because I was doing 3 projects at the same time. And it somehow worked out. The Chinese wise man who said that if you have too little time, you should find yourself more tasks to do was right. Although it does require proper time-blocking 😉
Some trivia 😉
Thanks for being on this journey with me 😉👾🎮
